Chandre Bo is an Actress, dancer, musician, director, choreographer and writer
After completing her Honours Degree in Drama and Film (Cum Laude) at the University Chandre started working in South Africa's
performance industry. She has written and directed three musicals, as well as performing in various short films and commercials. She also won the award for best production
the South African Theatre's Youth X-pressions festival in 2013 for her physical theatre production she choreographed and danced in. Recently Chandre has started doing
professional voice work and is currently completing her Masters Degree in cinema and gender.
Chandre is in the final throws of her Masters Degree in gender, cinema and Shakespeare in South Africa. She is also busy writing an article on the subject for publication.

Chandre co-directed both SKULDery and Suikerbossie with Jesto Marx. She then went on to direct the musical
Music! - The Musical?. After performing in numerous dancing and physical theatre productions Chandre was invited to
choreograph a dance theatre production for The State Theatre's Youth X-pressions festival. Chandre choreographed and directed
Today's Youth Tomorrow for the festival, and went on to win the best production for the festival. She also spent her gap
year choreographing various dance routines.

Some of the stage work, adverts and productions that I have been part of and worked on.
As Night Falls is a dance theatre production choreographed and directed by Nicola Haskins and designed by Bailey Snyman in
2011. Debuting at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown that year, As Night Falls won a Standard Bank Ovation Award for choreography.
Chandre performed in As Night Falls that year at The National Arts Festival, The Krekvars Students Arts Festival as well as at the Clover Aardklop Kunstefees where the production
was entitled Penumbra. She also performed in the show when it was taken back to the Natioinal Arts Festival and Krekvars Student Arts Festival in 2013 .
KN(I)EES is a comedic two-hander concieved by Chandre Bo, written by Chandre Bo and Luan Jacobs and directed by Luan Jacobs. The comedy
debuted at The Krekvars Student Arts Fesrival in 2012 and was performed by Chandre and Jesto Marx.
KN(I)EES pokes fun at the differences between men and women, and where all these differences start. At the knees. KN(I)EES can be performed
either in English or Afrikaans depending on audience requirements.
Music! - The Musical? is a comedic music theatre production. This comedy looks at the life of performers as a band tries to write a song
for an important client. The script was written by Chandre Bo and the original music and lyrics by Gerrit Scheepers and Chandre Bo
Music! - The Musical? was first performed at the Krekvars Student Arts Festival by Chandre Bo, Gerrit Scheepers, Aliza Graham
and Klaus-Louis Jansen van Vuuren to great reviews.
Suikerbossie is an Afrikaans comedic musical theatre show. Using well known Afrkaans songs as the basis for new
music Suikerbossie tells the story of a young girl from a small town when her past is confronts her new
life in the city. The script was written by Jesto Marx and the original music and lyrics by Gerrit Scheepers and Chandre Bo.
Suikerbossie was first performed at the Krekvars Student Arts Festival with a full cast and live music performed by
Chandre Bo.
Chandre was invited by The South African State Theatre to create a dance work for their Youth X-pressions
Festival. She created Today's Youth Tomorrow exploring bullying and its after effects upon the youth.
Today's Youth Tomorrow was choreographed and directed by Chandre Bo, and was performed by Chandre Bo,
Chanel van Wyk, Mdu Vince Nhlapo and Bailey Snyman (winner of the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for dance
in 2012.
Today's Youth Tomorrow won the award for the best production at the Youth X-Pressions Festival.
Matchbox Theatre Collective and the University of Pretoria
Chasing was choreographed and directed by Nicola Haskins and design done by Bailey Snyman (both)
of the Matchbox Theatre Collective. Chasing explores the life and death of South African poet
Ingrid Jonker and is a physical and dance theatre production. The production was performed by
Chandre Bo, Chanel van Wyk, Tarryn-Tanille Prinsloo, Missy Maguire, Mdu Vince Nhlapo, Andre Coetzee and Lesego Gladwin Molotsi.
Chasing was performed at the National Arts Festival and The Krekvars Student Arts Festival in 2012
and again in 2013.
